A Marketing Simulation Game
Maven is a marketing simulation game in which participants run a small
marketing company that sells up to two products in three regions. The
products are sold through retail markets to the general public. The two
products are not substitutes for one another, nor are they complementary. This means that the sales of one product do not affect the sales of
the other product. You will also have to decide whether to make the products yourself or to subcontract the manufacture of them to another
Maven is classified as an entry to the meduim marketing simulation game and targeted at principle-level marketing courses. Each decision round
requires partcipants to make approximately 65 decisions. Through the
simulation, participants learn the challenges of applying the 8Ps of
marketing to a business enterprise. Maven gives participants the chance
to apply the marketing concepts they are reading in their textbook.
